Neighbourhoods · Port Moody
The neighbourhoods along the north side of the inlet, close to the water and the city's core.
Overview
The North Shore neighbourhoods run along the inlet's northern edge, a short walk or ride from Rocky Point and Moody Centre. They pair an established residential feel with genuine proximity to the water and the town centre.
That closeness to transit and amenities is exactly what the SSMUH and transit-oriented rules are meant to build around, which makes this a nuanced area to read.
SSMUH in North Shore
Proximity to the inlet and to Moody Centre means some North Shore lots sit near frequent transit, and a few edge into transit-oriented territory. Distance to the SkyTrain is the deciding factor.
Across Port Moody, lots from 280 m² to 4,050 m² allow up to four units, rising to six within 400 m of frequent transit, and three on the smallest lots. North Shore follows this framework, with the local nuances above.
